Adams Update – News You Can Use for the Last Week of School

Good Evening Adams Families – 

As we come upon the last two days of school, please see below for news you can use this week.  Among other events this week, we will have a special field day for our primary and intermediate students, celebrate our fifth graders as they move on to middle school and thank our staff for another wonderful year.  

Thank you for all you do to support all the kids at Adams.  We could not do the work we do without our community.

Last Day of School and Report Cards

The last day of school for students will be TUESDAY, JUNE 18TH. Dismissal on that day will be 11:45 for all students.

Teachers will complete report cards on June 19th. Report cards will be mailed home in late June.

School’s Out!!! Let’s Celebrate Together!!!

June 18th from 11am to 10pm, Hot Mama’s Wings with be donating 15% of your bill back to the Adams PTA when you let them know you’re from Adams.

Talk about a great way to kick off your summer vacation! We’ll see you there.

Still Looking for a Few Volunteers Needed for Field Day

3rd, 4th and 5th Grade classes will be taking part in Field Day on Monday, June 17th from 12:55 until the end of the school day.

K, 1st and 2nd Grade classes will be taking part in Field Day on Tuesday, June 18th from 9:00 until close to the end of the day.

Library Books Due Now

All Adams library books are due to the library. If your child still has a book or two out, please send that book in this week. Books may be dropped off in the office or in the return slot near the library.

Lost and Found is Overflowing

Our lost and found is overflowing again. Please make time to come and look if you are missing a jacket, hoodie, lunchbox or one red shoe. We probably have it. All items in the lost and found will be donated to charity on June 19th

Marker Recycling

Cleaning out and getting ready for summer? Bring any old, non-functional markers to Adams anytime during the last week of school and put them in our Crayola recycling box located in the main hall across from the office.

The Adams Community Facebook page is a closed group for our school community, where you can reach out to other Adams families, get the latest news, find answers, and stay in contact. It is the best way to stay in touch for summer meet-ups!

Volunteer Interest for Next School Year

This year is only just almost over and we’re already looking ahead! Do you plan to be back at Adams next year? Please consider filling out our Volunteer Interest Form for the 2019-2020 school year. Even if you completed the questionnaire when you submitted your background check to volunteer this year, we don’t have that information. Click the link to be sure your info and interest is counted. We can’t wait to reach out to you with new opportunities!

City of Eugene summer resources:

EUGfun has a calendar of events on the homepage.

Eugene Parks and Recreation (free activities and fee-based camps with scholarships available)

The City of Eugene Recreation Services has partnered with a host of community organizations to bring Fun For All to your neighborhood park.

Fun for All is a community wide program that provides free recreation opportunities for youth ages 0-17 (children under 10 must be accompanied by a responsible party aged 15+).

Pajama Storytime (free)

Tuesdays, 6:30, Downtown
An evening storytime for children of all ages to share the joy of language and encourage love of books. Pajamas welcome. 45 minute event: 30 minute program, followed by a 15 minute art activity.

Family Music Time (free)

Saturdays, 10:15, Downtown
Talented local performers and educators visit to play live music for families with children of all ages. Music and songs promote language development. Start the weekend singing, moving, and learning together at this 30 minute event.
