Walk and Bike to School Day, Strings, Bulbs and More.

In this update:

  • Walk and bike to school day tomorrow!
  • Strings class opportunity at Adams
  • Our lost and found is overflowing
  • Bulb and flower fundraiser

In order to better include our bus-riding students on Walk & Roll to School Day, 4J’s Safe Routes to School and Transportation Department, in partnership with our school, are planning a “walking school bus!” We invite all students to participate and are looking for volunteers! Please sign up here if you can volunteer to be a chaperone for the walk or stationed along the route.

What*: Buses will stop at Friendly Park, 2745 Monroe St, Eugene, OR 97405 where students who choose to participate will be met by volunteers and school staff.  At school, the walkers should arrive before breakfast and bell time, but some may need to eat in the classroom if there are delays. Bused students who are not participating will be driven the rest of the way to school on the bus.

When & Where: 7:55 Wednesday morning, Oct 10th, Friendly Park, 2745 Monroe St, Eugene, OR 97405 to walk to school.

Why: Walking is great for your child’s health and the environment, and riding the bus is the best carpool ever! We would like to encourage more students to ride the bus and to walk and bike to school, and hope this event will let more of our students experience how fun it is, while showing the community that our children deserve a safe place to walk!

Please sign up here if you can volunteer to be a chaperone for the walk or stationed along the route!

Strings Class at Adams

Sign Up for Strings Class! As you may have heard, the Eugene-Springfield Youth Orchestras (ESYO) offers our 4th and 5th graders strings classes here at Adams in the morning before school! ESYO’s String Academy gives children the opportunity to learn to play the violin, viola, or cello in a relaxed setting with a qualified teacher. They provide the teacher (Dale Bradley), the book and the instrument to take home! They also offer unlimited scholarships for program fees and instrument rentals for any family that qualifies.

String Academy at Adams meets Mon/Wed/Fri, 7:40-8:25 AM. Please check with the office for more information or register on line: http://esyorchestras.org/programs/string-academy-i/. Open the door to an enriching musical experience for your child, with benefits that can last a lifetime!

I am attaching the brochure, the hard copy of the registration paperwork with scholarship form. They can sign up on line too: https://esyorchestras.org/programs/string-academy-i/

Interested in Spring Flowers?

Make it a fun project with the kids, help them plant the bulbs and then watch for them to come up in the Spring and bloom. Half of sales go directly to the Adams PTA to help fund the school garden
