Conferences, No School and More

Good Afternoon,

I just wanted to make a few reminders as we come to the end of this modified week and enter parent/teacher conferences.

If you are interested in getting Adams Updates by text message please text follow adamsalligator to 40404 .  After doing so, when an update is posted to the blog at https://adams.4j.lane.edu/ or emailed through School Messenger, you’ll receive that same info as a link in a text message.

During conferences, access to the building will be through the front doors at the office. If you are unsure of where your child’s room is, we will have signage to direct you.

The cold and wet weather has arrived.  We strive to have students enjoy outdoor recess whenever possible.  Please help your child to be prepared for outdoor recess by sending them with a jacket and appropriate footwear for wet conditions.

Our Adams Family Food Drive is coming up soon.  This project helps families in our school community through the holiday season while kids are not in school.  More information will come out on this next week.

We look forward to meeting with you at conferences.  Have a great rest of the week and weekend.

~ Principal Kevin

FROM THE PTA

Below you will find the agenda for our second meeting of the year. We have two guest speakers this month, our amazing counselor, Sara Matteri, and Deb Jones from FAN (Friendly Area Neighbors).

We’re off to a great start. Our fundraising efforts thus far have met or exceeded our budget which is always a good sign. Celina Johnson-Hess has been working tirelessly on our upcoming silent auction which is set to go live on www.32auctions.com on Monday, November 13th. Andrea Siedler submitted our first Box Tops collection which was over $450! Kim Harper-Kennedy has done a great job raising awareness about our eScrip and Amazon Smile programs, both of which have steadily increasing revenue.

In community building news, Krysta Alves and Sarid Ditton have planned two well received staff appreciation events. In September they put together a sandwich station for staff on Back to School Night. October’s event was a soup-er lunch with delicious homemade soups served in bread bowls. Anna-Minna Pavulans-Sherwood and Shareen Vogel have been working hard to organize our Adams Book Exchange, receiving new books, sorting them, and making sure they are placed in the correct bookshelves. It is so wonderful to see all of the gently used books make their way into the hands of new readers.

We hope you’ll join us on Thursday, November 9th to learn more about what the Adams PTA is doing to support our wonderful school.

Adams Silent Auction – November 13-16

Our annual silent auction is just around the corner! You will be able to view items and bid on them online at 32auctions.com November 13th-16th.

We will also have an in person viewing of all auction items on November 15th at Oakshire Public House. That same night a dollar from each pint purchased will be going straight back to Adams. It’s a win-win! The auction has something for everyone. Whether you’re wanting to purchase tickets to Disneyland, or Wheel of Fortune, looking to take 13 friends on a pedal powered pub tour with Pacifc Pub Cycle, hoping to relax with a cup of Labrang, or Yogi Tea, or wanting to purchase an American Girl Doll in time for Christmas, we have you covered. We also have generous donations from Burley, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Friendly Street Market, Evergreen Aviation Museum, Eugene Symphony, and Oregon Bach Festival among many, many others. Mark your calendars and join us November 15th to generously support Adams and bid on a great gift for yourself, or a friend!
